The Society aims to preserve and maintain a collection of historic tugs and allow them to be used to further study of this area of maritime history. The society has a base within the former Royal Navy Dockyard at Chatham where its small but growing collection is permanently on display.
The collection currently consists of the 1948 Kent, 1966 Fearnought both previously operated by JP Knight and the 1928 vintage Barking boats.
